Tango Mercurio Receives Arts Grant
The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities has awarded Tango Mercurio a $15,000 grant from its Relief and Recovery Fund to offset losses from COVID-19. The funding will help us cover staffing, space rental and other operating expenses in support of our classes, events and outreach activities.

September 2022 : Friday Classes moving from Balance Gym Thomas Circle to Balance Gym Capitol Hill
At the end of July, Balance Gym closed their Thomas Circle location.
This Fall, starting Friday, September 16, Tango Mercurio’s Friday classes and practica will be held at Balance Gym Capitol Hill.
We will continue with the same format as before. Two parallel classes (6:30-8:00pm) followed by a combined practica (8:00-8:45pm).
Please note that classes start @ 6:30pm – an hour earlier than in the past.
Parking is ample and easy at the new location.

Open Position: Queer Tango Program Manager
Tango Mercurio, an art-education nonprofit organization, seeks a passionate individual to oversee its Queer Tango Program. Applicants should have a background in the arts, a passion for tango, experience in the nonprofit sector, familiarity with topics of importance to the LGBTQ+ community, and an appreciation for community building.
