Most businesses and organizations understand the importance of great leadership, but the concept of followership is still largely ignored or labeled as undesirable. Tango dancers understand, however, that both roles are equally important for building healthy, functional, and creative relationships. By identifying key followership skills familiar to tango dancers and applying them to work relationships, communication with coworkers and supervisors becomes smoother, more effective, and more rewarding. Sharna Fabiano, the founder of Tango Mercurio, has over 20 years of experience teaching, organizing, performing, DJing, and producing events within the international tango community. She also has an MFA in Dance, has taught tango courses for dance and theater undergraduates, and is a certified yoga teacher and life coach. Her latest project is a 9-week professional training course that applies tango principles - in particular followership skills - to the work place.
