Tango Mercurio is committed to ensuring our website, classes, milongas, and community events are accessible to people with disabilities.

Our mission is to promote cultural understanding and social cohesion through Argentine tango, and that mission depends on access being open to as many people as possible. The commitments below describe how we approach accessibility across our website and our in-person programming.

  • Web accessibility

    We work to ensure this website conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, so that people using assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice-recognition software can navigate and use our content.

  • Physical accessibility at events

    We select class, milonga, and concert venues with accessible entrances, restrooms, and seating wherever possible, and we note accessibility details on our Schedule and Events pages. If you need specific accommodations to attend, contact us in advance and we will do our best to arrange them.

  • Adapted Tango Program

    Our Older Adult Outreach / Adapted Tango Program is designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, led by trained volunteer instructors under specialized guidance. It reflects our broader commitment to making tango available to people of all abilities.

  • Reasonable accommodations

    We provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities upon request, including alternative formats for materials, accessible seating at events, and assistance navigating registration. Requests can be made by emailing us at least one week before an event when possible.

  • Ongoing improvement

    Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We periodically review our website and event practices, and we welcome feedback that helps us identify and fix barriers.
