About the movie
Fermín was recently screened at the FilmFest DC Online (and nine other festivals), tells the story of the elderly Fermín Turdea, who lives in an insane asylum in Buenos Aires. Young Dr. Kaufman tries to investigate the source of Fermín’s strange utterances, while falling for Fermín’s captivating granddaughter Eva, an expert tango dancer. In addition to great dancing in contemporary and historic settings, the film features a touching story of friendship, betrayal, and redemption, with references to Argentina’s dark past. The screening is free, but donations to Tango Mercurio, a nonprofit arts education organization, are welcome …

About Oliver Kolker
A resident of New York and renowned tango performer and instructor, Oliver Kolker was born in the United States but grew up in Argentina. He studied tango with Argentine master dancers and has won many awards for his dancing. After the screening, join Oliver and Tango Mercurio Board Member, Ketil Hviding for an interview and Q&A with the virtual audience. Oliver may also have a few questions about the music for viewers in the chat box.
